DJ'ing since 1985 and Producing / Podcasting since 2020 At the very tender age of 13 years old I was helping out a friend (A DJ who was 19) and the name was "Ideal Sound and Lighting". I was doing the usual crate carrying, speaker lugging, DJ booth set up and wiring for various school dances or Legion parties and various other gigs that came up. From there, I learned how to mostly just swap over songs, nothing special, no mixing, just fading in and out. Nothing to hard (as some DJ's know) At the time, we were using the 'Good Ole" Technic 1200's and I then quickly started to learn to beat match, tempo match and yes even scratching lol lol Thru out my upper teenage years my buddies all had DJ BOOTHS and we would play for hours and hours before and after the bars Now things have changed, welcome to the future and now we are mostly using electronic jog wheels and software with some vinyl still, some CD's and MP3's and I can say, 36 yrs later I am still spinning your favorite tunes
