Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, indie recording artist Jay Lyrickal, Formerly Known as Reggie J has always been a fan of Hip-Hop music. Born Ian Jackson, Lyrickal Idolized rappers such as 50 Cent, Eminem, WC, Mack 10, and many more. Lyrickal decided to give rap a chance. After writing his first rhyme in junior H.S., Jay decided to continue writing due to the reception and feedback he got from his listeners. Not long after, he began to record music in Brownsville Brooklyn when he started High School. To Jay, music was a hobby, but his hustle and hard work transformed music into a lifestyle. Jay continued to write throughout High School and College. His achievements in music are astonishing. From releasing his first mixtape in 2016, to performing for RCA records, to attending multiple radio shows, Jay has certainly made his mark as an upcoming talent in New York.
